Day Out

I'm doing a little hunting & gathering for the front re-do spring planting, that called for a trip to Berkeley.  First stop, American Soil & Stone where I promptly tore my favorite work sweatshirt.  Appropriate.

Thankfully, it was a gorgeous day and I didn't need the extra cover for long! We are in a stretch of t-shirt weather.  I wanted this little boulder baaaaaad.  Too hard to reach down inside and get it out, why I usually trick Ivan in to going with me 😉.

A stop at Berkeley Horticultural Nursery.  This clump of Phlebodium aureum, rabbit's foot fern was beautiful in the dappled sun.
Though the rabbit's foot part wasn't really showing.
And of all the -absolutely not looking for that plant, I bought this? Rhododendron lysolepis, a dwarf Rhododendron. I'm so confused by this, maybe I'll pot it and try Bonsai?  The tiny leaves got to me.
Moving on, Flowerland!
Weed It and Reap!
My photo doesn't do this Cannomois grandis justice, it was really pretty.
Score! Berzelia Albiflora, I have one in the back garden and adore it.  I never want to cut into for arrangements, but with 2 of them I'll be more willing.  I haven't seen one for sale and have been looking.

This good sized 7g Aloe Polyphylla was $234.95! Oh MAMA! That's a lot. Plus they're sulky.
Most of the smaller succulents are reasonably priced.  Nice display!
Over to the 4" pots, picked up a Cotula hispida.
Overhead a pretty passionflower was blooming.
Gnarly.
On my way to checkout, this Vireya George Budgen 'Sunshine' got my attention with it's over the top cheerfulness.  I like Vireya but worry Livermore is too harsh, plus this one was INSIDE.
As did this unusual ant plant, Myrmecodia platytyrea.
I really enjoy stopping here, even if my wallet is empty.
Araucaria down!
Swanky!
Small plant haul: Berzelia albiflora, Dasylirion quadrangulatum,  Casuarina glauca 'Cousin It' & Aloe (distans, I believe not labeled). Not pictured, Cotula hispida.
And a few rocks.

Tomorrow, I'm off to the dump.  Getting rid of some garage & outdoor junk.  💚
