Back from paradise
I flew home from Cabo San Lucas Monday evening, how incredibly smart we were to plan travel the day of "fall back". Ha ha, just kidding - no foresight there but a wonderful gift. Sunrise.
Photo from our condo at TerraSol. Ridiculous, we stayed there last year and it's wonderful... if you enjoy grabbing a cup of coffee and walking 20 rigorous steps out to the sand. There is a nice little sprayer there on the step to wash sand off your feet. The palapa to the left is a pool/ bar/restaurant (including swim-up seating if you are so inclined). We enjoyed SO many pina coladas, we were scared to see our bill on check-out. But in the end, multiple orders of 3 pina coladas for $19 didn't break the bank! The sand next to this walkway was raked in different patterns throughout our stay. We did spend a few hours at this pool (there are 2). It is not advised to swim in the ocean, the waves are quite rough. We did see whales a few times, well at least their big spouts of water shooting up!
We were there for Halloween and Day of the Dead, what a blast! The main street downtown was closed for trick-or-treating at bars & restaurants, families all dressed up in costume. A party and a half! The costumes were impressive!
Tina with Ozzy & Sharon - we saw them several times, there was live music here & everywhere!
Unlikely couple, catwoman & Ronald McDonald.
This guy was creepy, never smiling ACK!
Hulk Hogan with a couple of beauties.
Richard Simmons was hilarious, throwing in stretches & exercise moves- I bet he was sore in the morning.
Our new friend, Sally bought us a round while we were dancing. We didn't go to bed until 4 a.m., which is saying something for me. I had a martini headband, but lost it dancing at Cabo Wabo prior to this.
Ahem. A happy couple - I had run across the lady a couple times, then spotted them together & A-HA.
I didn't want to include kid photos, but he seemed disguised enough. All the locals were so kind and warm. As they say, never a bad day in Cabo!
We came across several priests and nuns during the evening.
A cute pirate, she said the contact lenses were difficult to see out of - that's commitment!
Day of the Dead memorials were set up in front of establishments, honoring friends and family that had passed. I thought these were lovely tributes. Oh, almost forgot one of my favorites - there were 4 old guys dressed as Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. They were having a GREAT time, hahaha.
I'll stop there - that's a lot of photos. I'm happy to be back home, and continuing with the front garden reno. I had initially wanted to take out the tulip tree, and changed my mind (too big of a job!). Ivan has convinced me that we can handle it. I adore his enthusiasm and complete support of my nutty decisions. So back at the BIG REMOVAL! Dr. keeping tabs on me.
Welcome November!
Looks like you had a great time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wild and wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteWow Tracy. This looks like my kind of place. I LOVE cocktails, especially a Pina Colada. the day of the dead festa looked great fun. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed the costume pictures. Now I know why a longtime friend, who is 92 years old, still gets to enjoy Cabo San Lucas with her California family. I can so see her enjoying herself. I loved the Richard Simmons and the Dallas Cheerleaders had me cracking up.
